As we get closer to age 4 for ETC, doing things as a family is getting more and more fun. Their attention spans are growing (sometimes), their interests are more firm, and they understand so much more.

We live and die by routines around here, but there is nothing routine about our family entertainment experiences. Rob works long hours, and fun times depend on the moods of three small people plus the energy of two tired adults. We don’t schedule fun, but we definitely grab any opportunity we can.

If ETC are awake and have energy later than normal (bedtime happens at 7p on most nights), we treat the whole family to a movie and popcorn in the dark (“Just like at the movie theater!”), even if we sometimes only make it halfway through before somebody gives up and needs to head to bed.

Recent family favorites on Netflix include all things Tinker Bell (for straight-to-DVD/streaming, movies, these are surprisingly good) and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 (we had to add the first DVD to our collection because ETC liked the second movie so much).

Netflix recently added FernGully, so this will be our next movie-night feature, and I am ready to watch Rudy again with Rob. For fans of The Walking Dead, Netflix recently added season four, which means it’s time for a recap to get ready for the new season on AMC.

Last but not least, the Netflix Gods have answered one of my prayers. October 1, Gilmore Girls will be available to stream and kill productivity in my house. I. Cannot. WAIT.

As a Netflix Stream Team member, I was provided with a complimentary Apple TV device, and I receive free Netflix instant streaming service in exchange for sharing relevant topics and messages with you and your family. All opinions expressed on ActualJenny.com are 100 percent my own – those cannot be bought!

  1. I might be able to convince my husband to get Netflix if Gilmore Girls is involved. 😉
