If you saw the title and instantly sang out “Baby-sitters Club!”, you are one of my people.
The old-school BSC show was one of the most coveted items (is a TV show an item) of my childhood. We didn’t have Disney Channel at my house, so I lived for the free-preview weeks our cable company doled out regularly. Lucky for me, they’d usually throw in a BSC marathon, too. (My friends weren’t BSC fans. Otherwise, I would have mooched off them.)
I totally squealed when I saw Netflix added it a while ago. All the cheese is mine! Bonus, the full-length movie is also on Netflix. Oh, yeah. I totally owned that on VHS back in the day.
The ladies of the BSC aren’t the only totally gnarly shows from my childhood hanging out in my Netflix queue (do we still call it that?). I also have shows like Saved by the Bell (who didn’t want to marry Zach or be Kelly?), Goosebumps (I spent many weekend nights in middle school huddled on a daybed in the dark with my best friends), Knight Rider (this isn’t my pick, though I did occasionally watch it as a kid – Rob is the one who wanted his own KITT), and movies like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (“How can I possibly be expected to handle school on a day like this?”), The Great Outdoors, Who Framed Roger Rabbit (another pick for Rob – I don’t think I’ve ever seen this all the way through), Planes, Trains and Automobiles and Coming to America.
As if those big-kids favorites aren’t enough, I am also showing Toby, Eleanor and Callista the classics I loved as a kid, from older Disney films (they have finally fallen in love with Winnie the Pooh, and we can mix the classic film with the newer releases. They loved the classic Mickey Mouse Christmas specials, and I absolutely cannot wait to introduce them to School House Rock.

I was always a big Full House fan, and I totally have the BSC movie and all the old School House Rock songs on VHS!
Side note: just a couple months ago, I found out my fiance had never seen School House Rock. At all. So we promptly sat down and watched as that was a situation that needed to be rectified. =)

I was going to say Rugrats (used to be on Netflix, but not anymore, I don’t think), but after PP mentioned it, Full House!
We’ve been enjoying Disney movies from my childhood as well as discovering the new movies together. I cannot wait until my girl is old enough to watch Overboard. My mom and I still call each other when it is on, and occasionally throw our quotes from the movie. It helps that I share a name with the main character.
I love movies. Friday is family movie night. My husband and I grew up watching so many movies that the other hasn’t seen. It will be fun to share them with her, and each other, in the coming years.

Three Men & A Baby was always a favorite of mine. And I lived for TGIF on ABC – Boy Meets World & Step By Step were the best!

I did not know about this BSC movie. I loved those books. I love Full House and Schoolhouse Rock and Little House on the Prairie.
Oooh Ghost Writer and Fraggle Rock would be amazing!!! I’d love to see 7th Heaven and Little Giants on there!
