Dogs have bad haircuts, too (179/365)

Lucky, who we best guess is a Cairn Terrier mix, DESPERATELY needed a haircut. Rob was having a hard time getting in touch with our regular groomer, so we finally bit the bullet and made an on-a-whim appointment for Lucky at our local PetSmart.

I had a few photos from her last awesome haircut (done by a family friend back home in NE Ohio – BOO), so I figured we couldn’t really go wrong with a breed-style description and several photos.

Wrong.

I didn’t dare snap a picture of Lucky right after we left PetSmart on Sunday, but it was pretty awful. If they had shaved her back completely, let’s just say she would have resembled a man who’s bald in the center with long hair on the sides and back. Her back was shaved, but her sides, rear, tail and head were all left untouched – probably a good 3 inches long.

It. Was. RIDICULOUS.

Like any good pet parents, we whisked our embarrassed girl home and set up shop in our big tub armed with scissors, hair clippers and ample kisses and “I’m so sorry”s.

We at least made her look uniformly short, and we actually like her hair this length. Instead of wiry, long hair, she has super fuzzy, soft short hair. She’s lovely to pet now!

One more thing: See the stripe, approximately the size of a hair trimmer, on her side there? Yeah, not our fault.

Thank you, PetSmart. We know where to recommend annoying people have their annoying dogs groomed.
